Chances are you’ve probably noticed that the 2018 Winter Olympic Games have just kicked off in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
To celebrate this, I’ve decided to take a look back at the history of Winter Olympics video games: the good, and the very much not so good.
In the Tired Old Hack Winter Games Challenge I’ll be uploading daily videos over the course of the 2018 Games, as I proceed through the history of the winter games genre.
The general rule I’ll be following is that I’ll be trying out each event with no preparation whatsoever: not only am I curious to see how each event has evolved over the years, I also want to look at how accommodating multi-event games have become over time too.
Back then, unless you were happy to paw through the manual, a lot of these events were a nightmare to figure out. I’m hoping to demonstrate this here (after all, nobody wants to watch a guy just blazing through every game: you’re here to see me fail, let’s face it).
Let’s get cracking. Every day I’ll add a new video to the end of this article. Alternatively, of course, if you subscribe to my YouTube channel you’ll be notified every time I add one.
Such a Good idea, will enjoy watching these and inflicting them on my kids!!
Excellent! Heads up – there’s some mild swearing in there. Just in case your kids are young!
Young-ish, but okay with swearing, Cheers for the warning though, will watch tonight!!
