Capcom has released a playable demo of the Switch version of Monster Hunter XX on the Japanese eShop. Being a brave warrior, I decided to try it out and record my findings in video form for your benefit.
The thing is, I’ve haven’t properly played a Monster Hunter game for a long time. I reviewed Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate on 3DS a couple of years ago, but cut my ties with it as soon as I’d written the review and moved on to something else. As such, it’s safe to say I’m far from a Monster Hunter expert.
With that in mind, stumbling through a Japanese-only demo for a game I’d forgotten how to play had the potential to be… interesting, so I decided to be a coward and opt for the easiest of the three levels on offer. Did I manage to beat the monster? You’ll need to watch the video and find out, innit.
The Monster Hunter XX demo is available now on the Japanese Switch eShop for the lovely price of fuck all. If you don’t already have access to the Japanese eShop, I wrote this easy guide taking you through the process step-by-step.
